Grenadines Cruise
Mustique - The Tobago Cay
We generally set off towards the Cays about 10am. This is a lovely sail; ideal winds could have us on a beam reach or down wind. Sailing to the Cays takes about 3 hours, towards Petite Canoun. This is often great fishing ground. It’s been known for us to pull in a barracuda, a Wahoo or if we’re really lucky a yellow fin tuna. Fresh tuna should really be
eaten on the same day; savichi, sashimi or even sushi.
Between Petite Canoun and Canoun we are exposed to the Atlantic, sometimes some swells for us to ride on. Surfing in a monohull or catamaran is a great experience. As we sail down the windward wide of Canoun you can see the 5 little islands of the Tobago Cays in the distance. You could also view some resorts one sponsored by Donald Trump hosting the only golf course on the island Traveling down the leeward side of Canoun drops the Atlantic swells, allowing for a pre lunch snack on a fairly calm vessel. You pass Charleston Harbour home of the company Moorings, which hosts catamarans for rentals. You could also witness the new airport that was built by blasting away Glossy Hill to extend Canoun to build a runway big enough for private jets to land.
