Tobago Sailing Holidays
The Island Paradise of Tobago
Tobago is a very special island, still a huge secret from the rest of the world. It is 11 degrees north of the equator, south of the hurricane belt. It has one of the oldest protected rainforests amongst the Caribbean islands.
Tobago has an incredible array of sea life; Angel Fish, Parrot Fish, Sting Rays, Manta Rays, Hawksbill Turtles, Brain Coral and much more. There is also great sport fishing in Tobago. The flying fish attract a feast of large fish such as Wahoo, Tuna, Red Fish, & Mahi Mahi.
Sailing in Tobago is such a pleasure, often a strong wind in the mornings. You have a chance to spot Turtles, Manta Rays or Dolphin porpoises as you sail up the island.
There are many charming bays to stop off in : Parlatuvier, Castara, English Man's, Cotton Bay. Some of these have incredible little villages to explore with rustic bars and charming locals. Others may have one fisherman on the beach in an incredible expanse of beauty. It's often hard to believe that its all yours and yours alone to explore. These bays are perfect for a yacht to anchor for swimming and snorkelling, often a perfect lunch spot or even an overnight stop.
When sailing around Tobago within a week you could comfortably circumnavigate the island. The trip can include a lot of sailing, swimming, snorkelling, some land explorations, a lot of feasting, sunset evenings, cocktails, possibly fishing. Diving can also be arranged off the catamaran, with the assistance of a Dive Operator.
